The BikeDock :: A Revolution in Bike Security!

About the BikeDock Bike Dock Location Get in Touch

The One Lock bikeDock ® seeks to address these concerns:

Commuters who cycle to work are bearing the brunt of bike thefts, police have warned. Figures released by the Met police show that bicycles are most often stolen from city centre racks during working hours. Inspector Dave Dixon, of the Cycle Task Force, said: "There's an eight-hour window when the bike racks are full. Most of the thefts are in the daytime in boroughs that border the City." E Standard

University of London found that an earlier version stood the test of time

University of London installed a prototype bike rack, designed and produced by Denis Quilligan, in Thornaugh Square- a busy location on the University Campus between SOAS and the Brunei Gallery. The design of the cycle rack was more pleasing than existing racks and incorporated low fixing points that added to the security of attached cycles. Thornaugh Square is a busy area for cycle parking with approximately 200 cycles being secured on racks every day. We have experienced incidents of cycles being stolen, from standard racks in this area, but the Quilligan model has remained a secure fixing device for the three years that it has been in place. Sgt Glenn Smith, Roads & Transport policing Safer Transport Team has recently assessed the design, made exclusively positive comments about it and has since reported to Camden and TfL.

Nick Davies, principal transport officer at Barking and Dagenham council, said: "We actively promote cyclists locking their bikes but we know in reality that can be very inconvenient and expensive so the majority of cyclists still use one lock, so these stands were a way of addressing that issue."

How does it work?

Just reverse your back wheel into the prong, then lock the frame and front wheel to the BikeDock with your regular lock. It's that easy!
